We must protect our planet where we live, work, and breathe. Currently, we are consuming resources and creating pollution in a way that the Earth cannot sustain. Recycling must be mandated via stronger legislation. We must also reduce vehicle and industrial carbon emissions aggressively and responsibly. I recommend that we implement a ˇ§carbon cap-and-dividendˇ¨ program (instead of the faulty and failing ˇ§cap-and-tradeˇ¨ program), In particular, I suggest that we research and invest more in renewable energy solutions while we consider clean coal, nuclear power, or offshore drilling. For the long term, we should focus on renewable natural energy programs and provide incentives for companies that utilize ˇ§greenˇ¨ energy technologies.
